When strategy moves to private AI sessions

A diagram illustrating how strategic decisions shift from group discussion to private AI sessions, and the organizational friction that gets lost in the move.

When you have a strategic question. Market positioning, technical architecture, competitive response. Before, that question went to your inner circle first. People with context, history, opinions. The kind of pushback that slows things down but also catches blind spots.

Now there's a tool with infinite patience, no ego, and depth across any domain you point it at. The strategic thinking still happens. It just happens privately before the team ever sees it. The group discussion that used to shape the direction can start after the conclusion is already half formed.

The decisions might actually be better analyzed. More data considered, more scenarios explored, more angles covered than a room of people could process. But they're missing something. The person who says "we tried that in 2019 and it almost killed the project." The gut check from someone who knows the culture will reject it. The pattern recognition that catches a political landmine before you step on it.

I had a small example of this recently. I was drafting something and almost included a reference that would have been read as a critique of a specific company. The content was accurate. The context would have made it a problem. No model flagged it. Experience did.

More data, less friction. And friction was doing some of the work.

What strategic decisions in your organization are being shaped before the room ever weighs in?
